Duke of Edinburgh Leaders:

Currently Marle Hall runs validation and revalidation courses for leaders who whish to take groups out from Warwickshire. The course either allows you to lead groups below 600 meters or above 600 meters; the process takes 1 day and validates you for three years.

The program currently requires candidates to navigate to the required level (above or below 600 meters), looks at group management on a broad scale and asks you to assess scenarios that may arise while out for the day.

At present this scheme is funded by Warwickshire County Council and takes place twice a year in the Peak District. This system is due to change in the coming year, as the scheme being altered to make it accessible to all levels of candidates, from introductory through to the advanced.

For Further information regarding this course contact Simon Patton at Marle Hall, or for more information about the introduction of the new scheme contact Neil Wilson (Head of Warwickshire Outdoor Education Service) neilwilson@warwikshire.gov.uk
