Are the activities that we will be involved in safe?
All the activities that we offer here at Marle Hall are safe. We will provide everyone with all the safety equipment that is required for each activity. All our equipment is checked regularly ensure that it meets the national standards set. If you require further information you can download our Risk Management Summary.
Will I be forced into anything?
Here at Marle Hall we ‘challenge by choice.’ This means that you will not be forced into anything that you don’t wish to do. However, we believe that people are capable of much more than they think, and our instructors are good at helping/persuading people to discover their hidden talents.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The weather doesn't’t stop play at Marle Hall, we will be out doing something rain or shine. If the conditions don’t allow us to do the planned activity, the program will be altered to make allowances for this. Whatever the weather, we will ensure that you get maximum out of our stay.
What clothes do I need?

What is the weather like?
Marle Hall is located in the rain shadow of the Snowdonia mountain range. This means that if the weather is bad in the mountains, then the sun can be shining back at the centre. This combined with our costal location means that we are in the ideal place for good weather.
How much free time will I get?
The Marle Hall experience leaves little space for free time as there is always something to keep you busy. Usually groups get an hour or so to ‘chill out’ in the evenings before bed in order for them to wind down.
What happens in the evenings?
There is more fun to be had in the evenings with a wide variety of evening activities around the grounds on offer. These are usually run by the visiting staff and are a good laugh. Come and see if your team is up to the challenge.
Do you cater for special diets?
Indeed we do. As long as we know well in advance we can cater for any special requirements that you may have. Ring us and have a chat about it if you have any concerns.
Will I get wet?
Depending on the time of year and the weather forecast throughout your time spent with us. You will be provided will a full set of waterproofs that will keep you dry throughout your stay. If on the other hand you choose to get wet, then the answer is yes.
Are the showers hot?
Yes of course, we couldn't do all things we do with out plenty of hot water to shower you all. The showers are hot in the morning and in the evenings.
Will I need money?
Marle Hall has a tuck shop in which you can buy Marle Hall souvenirs. There are a wide variety of bits and bob’s to choose from and a small selection of sweets.
Do I need wellies?
If junior pupils have their own wellies, we recommend that they bring them. We have a limited supply of small wellies. On arrival we will check that they are suitable for the activity and if not we will issue you with a pair of Marle Hall wellies. Black soles are best!!
What qualifications do staff have?
All the staff employed at Marle Hall are suitably qualified with nationally recognised awards. They are all professionals and will have a wide range of experience within the outdoor education. The will inspire, persuade and support you through all the activities and hopefully keep you smiling!
Do I need to go out and buy special ‘outdoor clothing?’
You do not need to go out and buy anything special for your trip, we will provide you with a set of waterproofs, a pair of boots and a rucksack. Any additional equipment that you will require will be provided on the day for example wetsuits, fleeces and wellies, along with all the safety equipment. If you are visiting us throughout the winter months and like a hot drink at lunch time then a flask with a screw top would be ideal.
What happens if I forget something?
If you do accidentally forget something that is vitally important for your stay we will do our best to provide you with one to borrow. |
